The Southern Coos Health District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center to hear staff reports for the month of March, consider a board education plan, consider a date for the next strategic planning session, and review next steps to fill vacant board Position #5.
At 6 p.m. there will be an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(c) to consider matters pertaining to the function of the medical staff of a public hospital licensed pursuant to ORS 441.015 Licensing of facilities and health maintenance organizations. No decisions shall be made in Executive Session. Open session will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.

APPLICATIONS ARE being sought for Southern Coos Health District Board position #5, term ending June 30, 2025. Board member Brent Bischoff resigned for personal reasons.
Duties of the SCHD board: The board adopts and periodically reviews the hospital’s mission, vision and values, and ensures that they drive strategic plans and board decision-making. The board determines the programs and services provided by the hospital and makes sure that they address community needs and the fulfillment of the mission. The board is responsible for ensuring adequate resources are available and allocated in support of these efforts. It is also responsible for clear communication of the hospital’s mission, goals and accomplishments, both internally and externally, generating confidence in and loyalty to the hospital.
Board member candidates must live within the boundaries of the Southern Coos Health District.

At 6:00 p.m. there will be an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(c) to consider matters pertaining to the function of the medical staff of a public hospital licensed pursuant to ORS 441.015 Licensing of facilities and health maintenance organizations. No decisions shall be made in Executive Session. Open session will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
There will be a second Executive Session following the open meeting under ORS 192.660(2)(i) and 192.660(8) to review and evaluate the performance of an officer, employee or staff member if the person does not request an open meeting.

The Southern Coos Health District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center to hear staff reports for the month of January, to consider Resolution 2024-02 Banking Signature Authority to add Chief Financial Officer, Antone Eek, and review the Community Health Benefit Report.
At 6:00 p.m. there will be an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(c) to consider matters pertaining to the function of the medical staff of a public hospital licensed pursuant to ORS 441.015 Licensing of facilities and health maintenance organizations. No decisions shall be made in Executive Session.
Open session will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. There will be a second Executive Session, following the open meeting, under ORS 192.660(2)(i) and 192.660(8) to review and evaluate the performance of an officer, employee or staff member if the person does not request an open meeting. This reason for executive session may not be used for general evaluation of an agency goal, objective or operation of any directive to personnel concerning those subjects.

The Southern Coos Health District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center to hear staff reports for the month of December and to consider a recommendation from Administration to proceed with a remodel project to support surgical services sterile processing.
At 6:00 p.m. there will be an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(c) to consider matters pertaining to the function of the medical staff of a public hospital licensed pursuant to ORS 441.015 Licensing of facilities and health maintenance organizations and 192.660(2)(m) to discuss information about review or approval of programs relating to telecommunications systems, including cellular, wireless or radio systems.
No decisions shall be made in Executive Session. Open session will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Southern Coos Health District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, November 30, 2023 with Executive Session at 6 p.m. and Open Session at approximately 6:30 p.m. at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center.
The District Board will review staff reports for the month of October, consider a proposal from Rural Pacific Emergency Services, PC, consider annual employee holiday bonus, updates to the employee retirement plan and review the District check signing process.
The Board will also consider moving the December regular meeting from December 21 to December 28. The November and December meetings are typically adjusted to accommodate holiday dates and month-end financial reporting.
