Antone Eek is Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center’s new Chief Financial Officer
Eek joined SCHHC on Feb. 14, 2024, replacing former CFO Jeremiah Dodrill, who moved out of the area.
He began his career as the Operations Manager for Pharmacy Services at Oregon Health & Science University, where he worked for 12 years while also obtaining his master’s degree in Hospital Administration. While at OHSU, Eek managed the pharmacy services of over $26 million per year and was a key member of the planning, design, build and system implementation team for the Epic EHR system in the pharmacy.
In addition to his experience at OHSU, Eek has worked for Providence Health in Seattle, and worked as Executive Director for Revenue Cycle at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Washington, and as the System Director for Revenue Cycle for Kaiser Maui Health System for three Kaiser hospitals on the islands of Maui and Lanai, including one 219 bed hospital and two critical access hospitals.
While at the Kaiser Maui Health System, Eek and his team reduced accounts receivable dollars from $250 million to $135 million and increased collections from $3 million per week to $15 million per week. He also managed the Kaiser clinics in the Maui system. In his most recent position, he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) over two for-profit hospitals in Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur Texas, including both acute care facilities, a behavioral health facility and all hospital based clinics for the system.
Eek brings a wealth of experience in hospital revenue cycle improvements, financial operations and departmental operations, having had oversight over finance, accounting, revenue cycle, EVS, Dietary, BioMed, Information Systems, Human Resources, and Supply Chain. He moved from Vancouver, Wash., to Bandon, Oregon where he will have close access to family. His grandmother lived in Powers. His mother was born at the hospital in Myrtle Point. His father lived in Medford, and he has an aunt who lives in Roseburg. He also has many family members in the Portland area.
In his free time, he enjoys riding the dunes in his ATV and spending time outdoors.
