BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for May 2024. Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.
Cassandra (Cassie) Estep, Medical Assistant, SCHHC Multi-Specialty Clinic
Clinical Employee of the Month
“Cassie is an amazing team player who always goes above and beyond to not only help the patients but also her teammates,” her nomination stated. “She reflects the values and mission of the hospital being patient-centered, having the utmost integrity, and being extremely professional. Cassie makes patients feel comfortable and cared for. She is extremely compassionate and very deserving of this nomination,” her nomination concluded.
A second nomination stated: “I am nominating Cassie due to her exceptional dedication to both patients and our provider team. Her commitment, compassion and professionalism make her a truly outstanding member of our healthcare community. She goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being of her patients is being taken care of in a timely manner. She take the time to listen to patient concerns, making them feel heard and valued. She doesn’t leave for the day with anything that is unsolved/unaddressed. She is 100-percent a team player. For example, when we are short-staffed up front, Cassie jumps in without any pushback and starts assisting patients coming in and out of the door. She always tries to find resolutions to help with better workflows, better team collaboration, and so much more. She is the most dependable person I have ever worked with. I will be forever blessed and honored to work alongside her,” concluded the nomination.
Dorothy (Dotti) Foley, Patient Access-Registration
Non-Clinical Employee of the Month
“I am nominating Dotti because she shows excellent compassion and patient-centered care daily,” her nomination stated. “She makes patients feel welcome as soon as they enter the building and always greets them with a smile on her face. Dotti engages in great communication with the patients, which makes the patient feel comfortable being here. She is also the same with her co-workers, making everyone feel like a real friend. Everyone always looks forward to working with and seeing Dotti every day. I believe she is a great addition to Southern Coos Hospital,” the nomination concluded.
