BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for July 2024. Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.
Non-Clinical:
Lori Colby
HIM Supervisor
Health Information Management
“Lori Colby has been a beacon of positivity and resilience, consistently carrying the weight and stress of numerous responsibilities,” stated her nomination.
“Despite the challenges, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to keeping things running smoothly in her department. Her hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. She always approaches her co-workers with kindness and patience, deeply caring about her impact on others.
“In a time when many would falter, Lori has stood strong, embodying the true spirit of perseverance and empathy. Recognizing her with this award would not only honor her incredible contributions but also serve as a much-needed light through the storm. She is truly deserving of this recognition,” her nomination concluded.
Clinical:
Jeffrey Turner, RN
Pharmacy Nurse
SCHHC Pharmacy
“I want to thank Jeff Turner because he goes above and beyond to ensure that patients receive the correct medications and that we, as nurses, have the information and support we need to provide excellent care,” his nomination stated.
“A few days ago, when the door to one of our medication cabinets broke, Jeff immediately assessed the situation and took action. He worked with the facility’s maintenance team to make sure that nurses had access to all essential medications. He coordinated with a team to order the door and ensured that it would be operational again as soon as possible.
“He also helped a lot when our hospital was renovating our med room a few months ago. He collaborated with the project team to determine the best location for temporary storage of medications and worked with the construction crew to ensure that the new med room met all safety and regulatory requirements.
“His willingness to go above and beyond is why he deserves to be Employee of the Month,” his nomination concluded.
Congratulations to both Lori and Jeff! Your contributions to Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center are greatly appreciated!
