January Employees of the Month Announced

BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for January 2024. Employees of the Month are nominated and voted on by their peers. They receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.

Clinical Employee of the Month

Christy Dressell:

Clinical Employee of the Month: Christy Dressell, BS RT(R)(CT)(BD)ARRT, ARMRIT, Lead Rad Tech IV, Medical Imaging Department

Over the past while, Christy has shown outstanding leadership and a deep commitment to SCHHC values. She is compassionate not only to patients, family members, the community as a whole, but especially to her coworkers. Christy shows empathy towards patients in pain and listens to colleagues who need a kind word. Patient-centered care is most important to her. She takes pride in her skillset and makes decisions in the best interest of all her patients. You will often see Christy in conversations with ER/Med-Surg doctors and radiologists, ensuring correct orders for proper diagnosis. She shows outstanding teamwork, respects colleagues, is very responsive to problems/issues and knows when to take concerns to higher levels. Christy is inclusive when we have potlucks, participates in hospital activities and has a great sense of humor. She is trustworthy, honest, transparent and respectful to management — a true leader in our department!

Non-Clinical Employee of the Month

Carolyn Randolph:

Non-Clinical Employee of the Month: Carolyn Randolph, Financial Counselor, Patient Financial Services

Carolyn displays compassion and empathy in showing patient care by being respectful and responsive to individual patient’s needs. When a distraught patient came into the billing office this last week with a high bill for her deceased family member, Carolyn kindly went over the bill with her and explained the situation, calming the patient immensely. In the end, the patient was so grateful that with tears rolling down her cheeks, she gave Carolyn the longest, most thankful hug I have ever seen.

Congratulations, Christy and Carolyn! Thank you for all you do for Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center!
