SCHHC Employees of the Month for June Named

BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for June 2025.

Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.

CLINICAL – Deena Buchanan, Ultrasonographer Tech III, Medical Imaging Dept. 

Deena Buchanan is an outstanding team member whose versatility, dedication, and commitment to patient care make a significant impact across the entire hospital. Working across multiple modalities, She consistently delivers high-quality services while maintaining a calm, professional, and compassionate presence. Deena is a true team player who is always willing to adjust her schedule to meet the department’s needs and ensure that patients receive their exams in a timely and efficient manner. Her flexibility and reliability are unmatched, routinely stepping up to fill gaps without hesitation. Her broad skillset combined with her attention to detail and patient-first mindset allows her to provide excellent care no matter the setting or modality. Deena is deeply respected by her peers and consistently demonstrates a commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork, a truly invaluable asset.

NON-CLINICAL – Michelle Jurgenson, Ancillary Imaging Supervisor, Medical Imaging Dept. 

Michelle Jurgenson has unwavering dedication to patient care and consistently goes above and beyond for both patients and our team. She is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but she also approaches each patient interaction with compassion, urgency, and a deep sense of responsibility. Whether it’s ensuring follow-up care is arranged, coordinating with other departments, or simply taking the time to reassure a worried patient or family member, Michelle consistently goes the extra mile to make sure every patient receives timely, high-quality care. She often takes initiative without being asked, anticipates needs before they arise, and is always willing to step in to support a colleague or help solve a problem. Michelle’s positive attitude and commitment to excellence contributes greatly to the success of our department.
