October Employees of the Month Named

BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for October 2025.

Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.

CLINICAL

Julie Buck, LPN, Med-Surg Department

“Julie has been with Southern Coos Hospital for quite some time and has shown exceptional dedication to both her professional growth and our organization,” her nomination states. “She began in a support capacity and worked hard to earn a degree in her field, allowing her to take on a more hands-on role in patient care. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a hand in many different ways. Julie followed her dreams and achieved her personal goals while maintaining full-time employment — a true example of perseverance and commitment. She demonstrates an admirable work–life balance and handles the demands of a high-stress department with calmness and professionalism. You can always count on Julie for support. She greets everyone with a smile and brings positive energy to the workplace. I am so proud and grateful to work alongside her. Julie truly embodies the mission, vision, and values of SCH and is a shining example of teamwork and dedication.”

NON-CLINICAL

Abby Glenn, Patient Access Specialist, Front Desk Admitting

“Abby is an incredible example of compassion, professionalism, and teamwork,” her nomination states. “As the first face our patients see when they walk through the door, she sets the tone for their entire experience. Abby greets everyone with genuine kindness and patience, creating a welcoming environment even on the busiest of days. She consistently goes above and beyond to help both patients and coworkers. Recently, when a patient came in upset and yelling, Abby handled the situation with calm understanding and empathy — quickly turning a difficult moment into a positive one. Her ability to stay composed and caring under pressure shows just how deeply she values the people we serve. Abby is also a true team player, always willing to step in and help wherever she’s needed. Her positive attitude lifts the entire department and reminds us what it means to lead with kindness. She is truly deserving of Employee of the Month.”

Congratulations Julie and Abby!
