National Health Center Week Celebrated at Coast Community Health Center

BANDON – Coast Community Health Center celebrated National Health Center Week with activities and events the week of August 4-10.

On Monday, Coast hosted a special donation drive to support healthcare for People Experiencing Homelessness Day.

Donations or new clothing and toiletry items are still being accepted. There are collection sites at the Coast Community Health Centers in Bandon and Port Orford (1312 Tichenor ST., Port Orford), and at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center in Bandon (900 11th St. SE).

On Tuesday, Coast celebrated Agricultural Worker Health Day. On Wednesday, it was Patient Appreciation Day with a Health Fair held in the Coast parking lot from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Southern Coos Hospital and other local healthcare providers were represented at the Health Fair, with SCHHC CEO Raymond Hino in attendance as well as other hospital executive team members and employees.

Bandon Mayor Mary Schamehorn presented a proclamation to Dr. Michael Torres, CCHC Chief Medical Officer.

Thursday was Stakeholder Appreciation Day and Friday was Coast Community Health Center Staff Appreciation Day.
