Bivalent Boosters Now Available

Southern Coos Hospital’s Multi-Specialty Clinic now offers COVID-19 boosters designed for the Omicron variant. The boosters are specifically formulated to attack the COVID-19 Omicron variant and are called “bi-valent” boosters. SCHHC has bivalent boosters in stock from both Pfizer and Moderna. If you are interested in making an appointment at SCHHC’s Multi-Specialty Clinic to receive your bivalent COVID-19 booster, call 541-329-0154.

COVID-19 Omicron Variant

The Omicron variant emerged in late 2021. Since then, several subvariants of Omicron have been observed. All variants are of concern, as the virus continues to circulate worldwide. The BA.5 strain of Omicron is currently the dominant subvariant globally and the most contagious so far. BA.5 is not seen as more severe than other Omicron subvariants. Approved COVID-19 vaccines continue to provide strong protection against serious illness and death.
