Job Title: Telemetry Monitor/Unit Clerk – Full Time
Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center has an opening in their Med/Surg Department for a Full-Time Telemetry Monitor/Unit Clerk. The Telemetry Monitor has completed an Oregon State Board of Nursing approved CNA I training program and understands the scope of practice this level of training allows. The Telemetry Monitor assists in giving quality patient care under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN. He/she communicates in an effective and efficient manner with co-workers, patients, visitors, physicians and other disciplines and departments. The Telemetry Monitor shares an integral part of the team approach to the delivery of individualized, patient care, based on Southern Coos Health District policies and standards of care. Supervised by the shift charge nurse, reports to the Nursing Manager.
The Unit Clerk is responsible for efficient organization of the nurse’s station. He/she answers phone calls, maintains patient charts, relays information to and from other departments, including oversight of central monitor (telemetry) system and schedules appointments for patients when necessary. Supervised by the shift charge nurse, reports to the Nursing Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years hospital experience preferred.
- CNA I Certification to practice in the state of Oregon.
- Current BLS certification.
- Basic arrhythmia class encouraged.
- One year acute care and/or long term care work experience preferred.
- Medical terminology preferred.
