Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) has an opening in their Med/Surg department for a per diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN provides direct services that meet the patient’s psychosocial and physical care requirements in accordance with Southern Coos Health District standards of care. He/she meets the communication needs of patients and family. The LPN provides care, as defined in the Oregon State Board of Nursing scope of practice. The LPN communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and patient symptoms. He/she is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The LPN is able to perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision by an RN. Reports to the Charge Nurse and Chief Nursing Officer.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN nursing program required
- Current licensure in Oregon as an LPN required
- 2 years of current acute care experience required
- Current BLS required
- Current ACLS preferred, if not must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
- IV certification preferred
- Successful completion of arrhythmia class preferred
This position works per diem with varying shifts.
